Liquor Bottles
If you are a wine bibber, you would probably have taken many brands of liquor. It is also possible for you not to be in love with wine or any liquor but love the many types of beautiful designs these bottles have. So if you are a collector of bottles or you are dedicated to recycling bottles, there are many designs out there that may catch your fancy.
There are different types of liquor bottles and they can be distinguished by the different shapes they have. There are some bottle shapes that have been known with some brands of liquors and it may not take an alcoholic to look at these bottles before these bottles are recognized. For example, it would be very easy to identify wine and champagne as they come in the same type of bottles and these types can not be associated with the types that are known to contain whiskey. Basically, these bottles are distinguishable based on their contents, color and size
For some common liquor types like beer and wine, they are often contained in cylindrical bottles. This bottle type is thought by many to be the commonest and if you frequent liquor stores, you may quickly want to agree with this. Liquor bottles that are cylindrical in shape have tapered necks that extend to the tops of the bottles. They are cylindrical at their bases to the main trunk of the bottles which narrows out in the middle with a smaller diameter. Necks of all liquor containing bottles are hollow cylinders and they open on both ends. These cylindrical bottles are perfectly round at their bottoms and rings of water are usually formed on tables with them when the bottles are chilled for types that their contents are to be enjoyed cold.
Some other types of liquor bottles are square or rectangular in shape. Now you may be used to seeing cylindrical shapes bottles but there are actually other bottles that are different in shape. Apart from the neck which is tube-like or a smaller version of a cylinder, the main trunks are different and are shaped like square or rectangular prisms. These liquor bottles are more conveniently held around their rounded necks. The bottoms of these bottles are square or rectangular in shape with slightly rounded edges. There are also oval shaped bottles and these are not very distinct as they appear as variations between rectangular or square shaped bottles and cylindrical bottles.
One funny looking type of bottle not so commonly found is the bulbous type of bottle. As it shares some similarities with the more common cylindrical type of bottle, it is also said to be a variation of cylindrical liquor bottles. Usually, bulbous bottles have circular bottoms but there are times when their bottoms are oval, square or rectangular in shape. You get the impression that these types of bottles are balloons with necks. This is because they do not have straight shapes that taper into necks as most bottles. It is possible for you to see such bottles ballooning at the center right along the bottom or the center. This way, they resemble kegs or barrels of wine or liquor.
Even though it is also one of the types of liquor bottles that are commonly seen around, flattened liquor bottles are yet what can make the collection of any antique bottle collector increase in worth. These bottles are at times referred to as flasks and they could be oval or rectangular in shape at their bases and these could be wide at their bases when they are viewed from the front side. A flattened bottle has a peculiar feature with their shape and configuration. When viewed from any of the sides, it would usually not be more than an inch or two in thickness. The sides that are flattened in the bottles could be oval, rectangular or square. There is usually a short and a hollow cylindrical neck that connects to the top of the bottle.
If you are interested in seeing different designs in liquor bottles, you may pay a visit to a liquor store. You would however need to be prepared for a pleasant surprise as there are many designs that are too numerous to count. These bottles also occur in different sizes ranging from tiny bottles with strong liquor content that can be slipped into pockets from which you could take quick swigs to large bottles that are often called jugs. These large bottles are usually used in big parties or large gatherings where most gathered are known to be wine or liquor lovers.
Different types of
glasses are used in making these liquor bottles and this helps to create
different outlooks for them. Depending on the type of color the bottles
have, it might be possible to distinguish the types of liquor they contain.
So that people might come to recognize their brand of liquor, manufacturers
love sticking to one type of shape and color of bottle for their products.
There are some colors that are more commonly used than others and these
include green, brown, blue-green, amber and clear or frosted glass.
